Parbhani's Wagdara Tanda Gets Another Solar Street Light Under Banjara-Lamani Scheme

A tender for village Wagdara in Gangakhed taluka, Parbhani district, calls for providing and erecting a solar street light pole at the village's tanda smashanbhumi, funded under the Sant Sevalal Maharaj Banjara/Lamani Tanda Samrudhi Yojana (संत सेवालाल महाराज बंजारा/लमाणी तांडा समृद्धी योजना) for 2025-26.

This follows a near-identical solar street light award for Umberwadi Tanda, also in Gangakhed taluka, earlier this year — together the two point to Gangakhed taluka's rural development office running through its tanda settlements one at a time under the same state scheme, rather than a single combined award covering every tanda in the taluka at once.

Why the pace matters

Tanda settlements have historically been among the last to receive basic civic infrastructure in many talukas, since they often sit outside a village's core revenue boundary and don't automatically fall within a gram panchayat's general-purpose works plan. A dedicated, named scheme — funding one tanda smashanbhumi light at a time — is a slower but more targeted way to ensure each settlement individually gets covered rather than being deprioritised within a larger village budget.

What to expect next

Given the pattern of individually named tanda-level tenders emerging from Parbhani district through August and September, more single-unit solar street light awards for other tandas in Gangakhed and neighbouring talukas are likely to follow through the rest of the scheme year.
