India's LED lighting market was valued at roughly USD 6 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 27.81 billion by 2034, growing at an 18.58% compound annual rate, according to a recent industry market report.
What's driving growth
The report credits three main forces: continued Smart Cities Mission infrastructure rollouts, government energy-efficiency mandates, and Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) support for domestic LED component manufacturing, which has been steadily lowering fixture costs.
Regional and product breakdown
Panel lights currently hold the largest product-type share at around 26%, while commercial applications lead end-use demand at 30%. North India holds the largest regional share on the back of Smart Cities Mission deployments in Delhi-NCR and government institutional upgrades across Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, while South India is the fastest-growing region.
