Nagar Parishad Georai, in Beed district, has reissued a second call for a tender covering the provision of a solar high mast at the Mangirbaba Smashanbhumi — the town's cremation ground premises.
Why a smashanbhumi needs a high mast
Cremation grounds in smaller towns often sit at the town's edge, away from the main grid-lit road network, but see visitors at all hours, including after dark. A single high mast can light the entire premises — approach path, ceremonial area, and waiting space — more evenly than a scatter of individual poles, while keeping the installation to one foundation and one panel-battery unit.
Why a 'second call'
A second call means the nagar parishad's first attempt at this tender didn't result in a qualifying award — commonly because too few bidders came forward, or none met the technical and financial eligibility bar set in the original notice.
